Samenow<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As the first guest entered, Anne Muphy O\u2019Neil, the hostess lit up, embraced him, remarking heartily, \u201cGreat to see you.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There was no fakery there!&nbsp; Anne\u2019s delight was genuine in encounters with the many friends who visited her home.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>She glowed as she ushered them into the great room<br>The overall lighting was subdued, but there was nothing subdued about Anne (who may not have known what the word meant)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Candles glowed at place settings with gleaming crystal and dazzling, but understated, dinnerware.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The O\u2019Neil home was abuzz with light and life.<br>The hostess was party organizer, cook, and often the entertainer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Anne O\u2019Neil lit up her home with a booming voice singing songs from Broadway shows while playing the piano.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Life, light, paying attention to detail&nbsp;\u2014 this was Anne (or at least part of her marvelous multi-faceted personality).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The giver of the light is no longer physically here.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nonetheless, that light endures and will never be extinguished.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Stanton E.
